Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed with all of the “health” recommendations out there?
Maybe you start a diet, a detox plan or a workout routine and quickly realize there are 100 other suggestions out there…and after trying to start them all, you realize they aren’t sustainable.
Then, because it’s either too challenging, too unrealistic, too unenjoyable or not conducive to your body, it makes you feel like a failure because you don’t complete it…am I right?
I hate that feeling!
Well, if I’m being honest with you, I feel a little bit responsible for contributing to some of your inability to complete a health goal.
My passion is to educate and empower you on how you can live your healthiest life. However, I’ve come to realize that sometimes the information I share can be overwhelming and intimidating.
So, because I want to serve you in the highest capacity and deeply desire for you to experience success in your health, let’s change things up a bit…let’s call it CheckJoy.
Now, if you think that sounds cheesy, blame my super-hot husband…it was actually all his idea. But, if you love it, I’ll take the credit. 🙂
So, what exactly does CheckJoy mean?
Any time you accomplish a task, big or small, dopamine is released into your brain, and dopamine is connected to feelings of joy, pleasure and motivation. So, when you feel the effects of dopamine, you become more confident and eager to continue repeating the actions that triggered that original feeling of joy, pleasure and motivation.
In fact, dopamine can be so addictive that a person can’t help but to continue to crave its affects…and what’s better than being addicted to becoming healthier and stronger?!
So, here’s the 1 thing I want you to begin doing every single day that has NOTHING to do directly with your health…
Make your bed the second your feet hit the floor!
If you do this first thing in the morning, then you’ll have immediately accomplished something and experienced a dopamine release.
I know that this may sound silly to you, but science has proven that accomplishing 1 task first thing in the morning can change the trajectory of your day. Neuroscientists even call this self-directed learning and confirm that this is why achieving small goals and tasks is a very effective way to be joyful, stay motivated and continue accomplishing goals.
Are you still with me?! Or are you dizzy from all of the eye rolls as you’ve read this? It’s ok, but let me challenge you with this idea…
If you never accomplish the little things, how will you ever accomplish the big things?
It looks a little different when you see if from that perspective, right?!
Also, to better serve you…and if you follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram, I’m going to start sharing some helpful health tips that are completely possible for anyone to do and super easy to implement into your daily routine. I’ll include the hashtag, #checkjoy, and encourage you to do the same when you share your own tips.
So, let’s…Ready, Set, CheckJoy!
Finally, I would love to hear your #1 simple and doable health tip that gets your day on the right foot! Please share in the comments below.
